Bank Complex, Kingtom, Freetown, Sierra Leone.
Commencing today, 8th April 2025, the National Civil Registration Authority (NCRA) initiates a three-day and National Stakeholders Workshop to evaluate and formulate its new Civil Registration, Vital Statistics (CRVS), and ID Management Strategic Plan for the period succeeding the conclusion of its prior plan (2019-2024) in August 2024. The workshop, scheduled to conclude on April 10, is financed by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), the World Bank/Global Financing Facility (GFF). The event convenes officials from Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), along with other essential stakeholders, who were appointed in February 2025 to engage with the NCRA on Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (CRVS) and identification management activities throughout Sierra Leone. The workshop seeks to develop a progressive strategic plan following the UNECA APAI-CRVS Guidelines.
The NCRA encourages the public to remain informed while this essential process progresses, enhancing the nation’s Civil Registration and Identity Management Systems for the future. Subsequent updates will be disseminated as the workshop advances.
